Having a huge family and a wide range of friends that live all over the United States, it is quite fun and scary to hear a ghost story from each location. As much as some can believe and some do not, please remember that anything can happen. So if you do visit any of these locations… make sure that a tour is available. And always ask questions about the places' histories, you'll be amazed at how many creepy stories you can discover. In Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Bryce Mental Institution has been raising hairs on visitors and new employee's heads. The institution was abandoned in the 60's after over a hundred years of service. New employees of the institution have up and quit after a few days, claiming of unusual happenings that prevents them to do their job. Mysterious scratch marks appear on visitor's skin while in the mental institution but after leaving the scratches are no longer there. Fairbanks, Alaska, in the Northern Lights Hotel, the hotel experienced a death of a little girl on the third floor. After her death the third floor of the hotel was abandoned and closed off. Since then, front desk receptionists have said of getting phone calls from room number 303 where the girl was staying when she died. Receptionists say the little girl keeps saying she is looking for her mother. Hundreds have claimed to see the light of the swinging lantern from the decapitated man as he walks along railroad tracks. The Winchester House in San Jose, California is an interesting sight… this 160 room Victorian mansion is valued over five million dollars. There are supposedly 13 of almost everything in the house. Windows contain 13 panes of glass; the walls had 13 panels; the greenhouse had 13 cupolas; many of the wooden floors contained 13 sections; some of the rooms had 13 windows and every staircase but one had 13 steps. There are countless staircases which led nowhere; a blind chimney that stops short of the ceiling; closets that opened to blank walls; trap doors; double-back hallways; skylights that were located one above another; doors that opened to steep drops to the lawn below;. And 13 drain holes in the kitchen sink and a 12-light gas chandelier modified to 13 lights. This house is also said to be a virtual maze; that only the spirits and Mrs. Winchester truly know their way around the home. There is a room in the house that is called the Blue Room. It is a small, windowless room where Mrs. Winchester supposedly held nightly séances. After, Mrs. Winchester would 'have dinner' with the spirits. She would set thirteen places on her table, along with thirteen plates filled with food. Aurora, Colorado at the Smoky Hill 7-11, this 7-11 was built on an old Indian Reservation. Rumors have said that this hotel has been in use as a KKK area or a Satan worshipping meeting ground. At Parkers Grove in Cedar Rapids, Iowa there is a carving of a face on a grave where when you visit there at night you can see the face cry and the eyes are damp or wet. Round Mound Cemetery in Cummings, Kansas has hit TIME magazine it is so spooky. Late at night you can hear the screams coming from the graves. In Bowling Green, Kentucky, a girl jumped off an old metal bridge and drowned. Rumor has it that if you go to the end of the bridge turn your car off and put it in neutral that the ghost of the girl will pull you across the bridge. Fort Jackson, in Buras, Louisiana holds the ghosts of the soldiers who died fighting in the Civil War and can be seen walking in the dark of night. On the Outer Heron Island portion of Heron Island, Maine, a headless ghost has been seen looking for his head. The ghost is supposively a captain of a ship that wrecked. Landover, Maryland on Lott ford Vista Rd, reports of a burning man run ghostly around the road. At the Roosevelt Park and Woods area in Magnolia, Massachusetts, your clothing will be mysteriously pulled at and you will hear wailing and blood randomly showing up on your skin then eventually disappearing. At night you can sometimes see the African-American woman or hear the baby's screams. At the University of Montana at the Brantley Hall, a student took her own life because of the Wall Street crash of 1929. It seems as though her ghost is still trying to graduate at some point. Ghosts and grave headstones can be seen tipping over and rising back up again at the Ball Cemetery in Louisville, Nebraska. At the Gold Hill Hotel in Gold Hill, Nevada, alarm clocks go off every how even when unplugged. The two dollar movie theatre in Nashua, New Hampshire, the atmosphere is very electrically charged. Several kills have taken place in the parking lot and theatre. Many sightings of children crying near old tombstones at the graveyard on route 47 in South Dennis, New Jersey. An Abandoned Insane Asylum in Albuquerque, New Mexico an old patient went crazy and killed several people. The Asylum is abandoned and the owners are against trespassing on the property, however those people who get through have been witnessed having a large black cloud hovering over their heads as well as pictures revealing the black hovering clouds overheads. Gravity Hill in Davidson, North Carolina, legend states that a woman's car broke down one night and was killed after it rolled over, if you stop your car at the bottom of the hill the woman will push you to the top and you can see her hand prints if you put a flower on the back of the car. At the old Armory in Williston, North Dakota, mannequins have been seen to move on their own. Living in Ohio had proved to show me the Warren Judicial Courthouse's spooky moments. In Warren, Ohio, the Courthouse at one time was a jail and you can hear echoes of footsteps in the halls of prisoners who never made it out of the cells. The yellow eyes of a Black Panther haunt the Black Panther Creek along the bridge in Comanche, Oklahoma. The Oregon Vortex is the most awesome sight to see. Near Gold Hill, Oregon, visitors have seen the Scottish scientist who discovered the area standing on top of the sloping floor and laughing. My best friend visited there recently and said it was definitely a place that will raise hairs on your neck and keep you in awe. Once I get pictures from her and information I will elaborate on this place. My home state…. 13 bends in Harmarville, Pennsylvania, an orphanage burned down with all the kids still in it and it is said that the hill that you go up, all the bumps that you go over are the buried children. There are 13 bends when you go up the hill and only 12 when you come down. Stop halfway up the hill and turn you car off, if you put baby powder on the windows and turn your car back on you can see little handprints. Also in Elizabeth, Pennsylvania there is another 13 bends of another orphanage around the same time that burned down in the 1900's. At this location the children can be heard crying for help and reaching out for visitors. Some have even witnessed ghostly cars chasing you around the bends. This location is a definite go for me to explore this Halloween. During the colonial era at the South Kingstown Great Swamp in Rhode Island there was a massacre between colonists and Indians. Ogden, Utah's Radisson Suite Hotel has consistent elevator stops on the fifth floor when no one requests that stop. People say they feel a presence walk past them and a smell of sweet perfume. Beware of Rublee St. in St. Albans, Vermont is haunted by a poltergeist that has captured and harmed people. This may be a tempting site to see, but be cautious. Walney Road in Chantilly, Virginia is another beware location. I would suggest avoiding it at any cost on a Wednesday or Thursday night around 11:30pm. A hitchhiker will appear and appear three times to give you the chance to give him a lift. If after the third time you do not help him, a car will appear out of nowhere and try to kill you. Washington's Carnation Cemetery in Carnation, Washington threatens visitors with strange footsteps, odd whispering in their ears, and strong pains upon entering. At the CITGO gas station on Dallas Pike in Dallas, West Virginia, workers have seen gas pumps going off on their own without the handle being lifted and there are black shadows roaming around the cameras. Driving across the Lowell Bridge in Lowell, Wisconsin if you stop in the middle of the bridge blood is known to start dripping from the railings. Anything dealing with Yellowstone National Park I find fascinating, especially this occurrence at the Old Faithful Inn in Wyoming. Two guests awoke in their room that was extremely hot in the middle of the night to find that their clothes were removed and folded on their bed. The radiator in their room was off. Happy Halloween!!! |
